Remarkable trees

Among Canon’s wonders is a magnificent group of Oriental plane trees (platanus orientalis). Planted in 1773 in the Canon park to enhance the English-style park, they are remarkable for the height of their shafts and the “elephant’s foot” flared base of some of them.

The beautiful specimens you can admire on your walk have weathered the storms of ’89 and ’99. They were awarded the “ensemble arboré remarquable” label by the A.R.B.R.E.S association in 2018, and serve as a refuge for many birds.

The map provided for your visit will help you locate the most beautiful specimens!
