A living family business
Canon has been part of the same family ever since it was founded. To cope with the complex management of such an estate, the family set up a société civile immobilière in 1999. An original participative management system was set up, with each member contributing 180 hours of work per year to the company. Raking, pruning, bookkeeping, poster campaigns or even welcoming visitors on Sundays or during events… there’s no shortage of missions! Visitors are not mistaken: at Canon, the warm family welcome is that of a tourist site unlike any other…
A dynamic team
In the space of a decade, Canon has become a fast-growing company. The team, comprising two full-time gardeners, a mason, a reception team and a reception staff, works at full capacity all year round to welcome you to our well-maintained estate for quality events.
Since 2017, château volunteers have been helping out in the garden, welcoming the public and preparing seasonal events.
Numerous projects
Maintaining and restoring an estate with one hectare of roof, 15 hectares of parkland and 2.5 km of walls is a very heavy burden. As a result, major works are required every year.
Since 1982, a number of activities have been developed to meet these restoration needs and ensure the long-term future of the estate:
- 1982: gardens open to visitors
- 2006: opening of the reception hall
- 2009: launch of the summer entertainment season
- 2010: development of days for groups
- 2012: opening of the garden boutique
- 2014: château opens to visitors in July and August
- 2015: development of school events
- 2016: developing activities for families
- 2017: the season expands: the château is open from “Easter at the château” to “Christmas at the château”.
- 2020: creation of the Canon rose garden
- 2021: opening of the illuminated trail in the park
- 2023: launch of Canon’s flower farm
All income generated by these different activities is directly reinvested in the restoration of the estate. So when you come and visit us, not only do you have a good time, but you also play an active part in safeguarding our heritage.
